The bracts and bracteoles are triangular, about 3 mm long, the buds are fusiform, the calyx is flame-shaped, about 2.5 cm long, and the petals are purple-red, with short petioles and are oblanceolate.

The flowers of Bauhinia are pink or purple-red, 2 to 10 flowers are clustered in bunches on the branches, the flowers are 1 to 1.3 cm long, and the pedicels are 3 to 9 mm long.
