Lettuce is generally sown in spring from mid-to-late April to mid-May. It can also be sown in August in summer or September in autumn. It has strong adaptability, so as long as the temperature is suitable, it can be planted in other seasons except winter.

How to plant lettuce

1. Soaking seeds for germination: Lettuce needs to be soaked for germination before sowing, which can increase its germination rate. It needs to be soaked in clean water for 5 hours, then taken out and dried, wrapped with wet cloth, and placed in an environment of 15-20 degrees for germination.

2. Sowing and seedling raising : When sowing lettuce, you can use direct sowing or digging furrows for sowing. As long as it is done evenly, it will be easier to thin out the seedlings after sowing.

3. Post-sowing management: After sowing, lettuce needs to be watered in time to keep the soil moist. Generally, water it once in the morning and once in the evening. The amount of water should not be too much, otherwise it will affect the growth.

Matters Needing Attention in Planting Lettuce

After the lettuce seedlings emerge, it is more prone to disease, so some rice husks need to be sprinkled to absorb moisture. When diseased plants are found, they need to be pulled out in time. When the seedlings grow to 5 cm, they need to be thinned out according to the planting density, leaving only the stronger ones.
