Michelia latifolia is an evergreen tree that can reach a height of about 20 meters and a diameter of 50 centimeters. Its twigs are covered with reddish-brown silky hairs.

Michelia is an evergreen shrub, about 2 to 3 meters tall, with a gray-brown trunk and yellow-brown hairs on the twigs.

2. The difference between leaves

The leaves of Michelia sempervivum are oblong in shape, relatively large, 11 to 18 cm long, 4 to 6 cm wide, covered with grayish-white hairs, and the petiole is 1 to 3 cm long.

The leaves of Michelia are relatively narrow, 4 to 10 cm long and 1.8 to 4.5 cm wide. They are shiny and have no small hairs. The petioles are 2 to 4 mm long.

3. Differences in Fruits

The follicles on the fruit of Michelia latifolia are oblong in shape, 1.5 to 2 cm long, and the fruiting period is from August to September.

The follicles on the Michelia fruit are ovoid or spherical in shape, and the fruiting period is from July to August.
