The difference between Takasago no Ouji and the Queen's Flower Hat

1. Leaf Difference

The leaves of Takasago are arranged in a rosette shape, the leaves are round, and the leaf edges have large wavy folds. The leaves range in color from emerald green to reddish brown, with young leaves being lighter in color and older leaves being darker in color. The leaf margins often appear pink, and the leaf surface is covered with white powder.

The leaves of the Queen's Hat are emerald green to reddish brown. The new leaves are light in color, and the old leaves are dark in color. When encountering strong light or a large temperature difference between day and night or low temperature in winter, the leaves will turn dark red, and when encountering weak light, they will turn light green. The leaf margins are usually wavy and purple-red, and the new leaves are covered with a thin layer of frost powder.

2. Flower Differences

The flowering period of Takasago no Ogi is in summer. It produces cymes that can reach more than 30 cm in length and produce bell-shaped orange flowers.

The queen's hat has cymes that are 50 to 100 cm long and the flowers are usually pink.
