1. Difference in appearance

When young, the branches are purple-brown and hairless, while old branches have lenticels. The purple-leaf plum can grow up to 8 meters tall, with dark gray branches and dark red twigs when young.

2. Difference of blades

The leaves of purple-leafed dwarf cherry are oblong or oblong, about 4-8 cm long, red or purple on the surface, redder on the back, and bright purple at the top of the new leaves. The leaves of purple-leaf plum are ovate, elliptical or obovate, rarely elliptical-lanceolate, dark green on the top and lighter on the bottom.
