How to grow lucky bamboo

How to grow lucky bamboo

1. Water

There are two ways to care for lucky bamboo at home, one is to grow it in water, and the other is to grow it in soil. Soil growth is relatively simple. Just give it loose, fertile, organic-rich loam and put it in a bright place, keep the growth environment at 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, and keep the potting soil slightly moist, so that it will grow stronger.

Lucky bamboo grown in water is widely used in households because it is convenient and looks better in appearance. However, lucky bamboo grown in water often has yellow leaves. How to make lucky bamboo grown in water grow more ideally? First of all, the amount of water should be controlled and not too much. Generally speaking, the roots of lucky bamboo can be inserted about 15 cm in the water. Too deep water can easily cause the cut at the base to rot.

Secondly, you need to pay attention to the water quality. Generally speaking, you can leave tap water at home and wait for two or three days before using it to grow lucky bamboo. You can also use purified water or boiled water for maintenance, and the effect is also better. It is not recommended to use water directly from the tap because there is disinfectant chlorine in the water, and the temperature difference of the water must be balanced with the room temperature so that it can adapt.

2. Lighting

Lucky bamboo likes bright light but is afraid of direct sunlight, so in this environment, you should choose an environment suitable for its growth at home and keep the temperature relatively warm. It likes high temperatures and grows well in an environment of 15 to 20 degrees. If the temperature is too high and exceeds 30 degrees, it will still be inhibited, so this is also something we need to pay attention to.

3. Fertilization

Lucky bamboo grown in water can be fertilized moderately. You can put one or two slow-release fertilizers in the water, but not too much. For bamboo that has grown for one or two years, you can prune it appropriately to allow it to sprout again.
