The difference between golden thread cattail and stone calamus

The inflorescence of the golden thread cattail is a fleshy spadix, about 3 to 9.5 cm long, 3 to 5 mm thick, yellow-green in color, and blooms from May to June.

The flower of Acorus calamus is triangular in shape, yellow-green or yellow-white in color, and blooms around February.

3. Differences in roots

There are many fibrous roots densely distributed on the root of the golden thread cattail, which are about 15 cm long.

The root of Acorus calamus is flat and cylindrical with many bends. It is 3 to 20 cm long and 0.3 to 1 cm in diameter. The surface is dark brown or gray-brown.
