Peony cultivation methods and precautions

Peony cultivation methods and precautions

1. Adequate light

Peony is a very beautiful flower. It likes sunlight and must not be lacking in sunlight when caring for it, especially during the growing period. It must be grown in sufficient sunlight and cannot grow in shady places without sunlight. Full exposure to sunlight promotes growth and flowering.

2. Loosen the soil

Peony has fleshy roots and is difficult to grow in a watery and humid environment, so it can be grown in loose, breathable, fertile, well-drained sandy soil. It cannot grow in heavy, non-breathable soil.

3. Suitable climate

It likes to grow in a cool climate and is afraid of high temperatures, so cooling measures should be taken in summer and attention should be paid to maintaining good ventilation. It cannot grow in a hot climate.

4. Proper watering

Peonies are relatively drought-resistant, so ground-planted peonies do not need frequent watering, and natural precipitation can replenish moisture. Potted plants should be watered according to the dryness and wetness of the soil in the pot. They should not be too dry, but the amount of water should be controlled each time, and never water too much.

5. Reasonable fertilization

Pay attention to reasonable fertilization. The number of topdressing does not need to be too many. In addition to applying base fertilizer when potting, topdressing should be applied once when the leaves grow, once during the flowering period, and once again in autumn and winter.

6. Notes

Paying attention to pruning regularly can promote growth and prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.
