The difference between syzygium and syzygium

The difference between syzygium and syzygium

1. The difference between leaves

The leaves of Syzygium wilfordii are elliptical to oblong, thinly leathery, about 10-22 cm long and 5-8 cm wide. The apex is obtuse or slightly pointed, the base is rounded or slightly cordate, and the petiole is almost absent or short. The leaves of the rambutan are lanceolate or oblong, with a gradually pointed tip and a broad cuneate base. They have petioles and are 6-8 mm long.

2. The difference between fruits

The fruit of the syzygium is pear-shaped or conical, about 4-5 cm long, and magenta in color when ripe. The surface of the fruit is bright, with a depression on the top and one seed. The fruit matures in May-June. The fruit of the rambutan is spherical in shape, 3-5 cm in diameter, and yellow in color when ripe; it has 1-2 seeds and matures in the same season, from May to June.
