Common varieties of lemons

Eureka

Also known as Youlike and Youlijia, this variety is native to the United States and is the most widely cultivated variety in the world. The fruit of Eureka is oval to obovate, medium to large, with a single fruit weighing 90~160g, with a nipple-like protrusion on the top and a blunt base. The fruit skin is light yellow, thin and with few cores under normal management.

Fino

Also known as mesero, primofiori, it originated in Spain and is the main cultivated variety in Australia. The fruit is spherical or oval, medium in size, light yellow or yellow in color, with a thin and smooth skin and high acidity.

Verna

A Spanish variety, the fruit is relatively large, oval in shape, with few thorns and few cores. The fruit is yellow, with tender flesh and rough skin.

Inerdonato (Indian nut)

A hybrid of lemon and citrus, the main cultivated variety in Türkiye and the main export variety. The fruit is oval to round, yellow-green when ripe, with a smooth surface and thin skin.

Meyer (Beijing Lemon)

A hybrid of lemon and orange or lemon and tangerine, it was discovered in the suburbs of Beijing in 1908 and further bred in the United States. It has low acidity, a slight bitter taste, a soft internal structure, excellent resistance, heat and cold resistance, a thin skin, juicy fruit, and is not resistant to transportation and storage.
