Cultivation methods and precautions of Dendrobium

Cultivation methods and precautions of Dendrobium

1. Water

Dendrobium is suitable for growing in a humid environment, and the amount of watering must be controlled. If it is frequently overwatered, it will cause root rot, which will seriously affect its growth and development. Watering can be done by spraying to increase the humidity of its breeding environment.

2. Sunlight

It likes a warm, humid, semi-shady environment and is not cold-resistant. When growing it, place it in a position with scattered light and do not allow it to be directly exposed to strong sunlight. If it is in winter, place it in a sunny place.

3. Temperature

Dendrobium is suitable for growing in an environment of 15-30℃. The maximum temperature should not be higher than 35℃, and the minimum temperature should not be lower than 5℃. Too low temperature can easily cause it to stop growing or even frostbite. If the temperature is high, cooling measures should be taken. The humidity in the air should be high. You can use a spray bottle to spray some water. It is best to grow it in a well-ventilated environment.

IV. Reproduction

Planting close to trees: Peel off about 30 cm of bark, then apply a layer of cow dung and mud mixture, stuff it into the cracks or broken bark of the tree, then cover it with a layer of straw and tie it with bamboo strips.

5. Notes

1. Black spot disease is easy to occur in March to May every year. It usually attacks the leaves, which will become withered after being attacked. You can spray it with carbendazim.

2. Anthracnose: It will attack leaves and stems. The attacked leaves will have brown or black spots. It will appear from January to May every year. It can be sprayed with carbendazim or methyl thiophanate.
