Cherry Blossom Cultivation Methods and Precautions

Cherry Blossom Cultivation Methods and Precautions

1. Soil

Cherry blossoms are suitable for growing in loose and well-drained sandy soil. It is best not to use heavy clay soil. You can use leaf mold that you prepare yourself.

2. Watering

Cherry blossoms are relatively drought-tolerant, so they do not need to be watered too frequently. Watering must be reasonable. When watering, water thoroughly. Do not make the plant too wet or allow water to accumulate. Once water accumulates, it will easily lead to root rot. It likes a relatively humid environment, so the soil should always be kept moist. Water it about once every three days. In hotter seasons, water it once in the morning and evening. It is also necessary to spray water around to increase the air humidity. Reduce watering in winter, generally water it once every 15 days.

3. Fertilization

It is only necessary to apply fertilizer twice a year, and generally acidic fertilizer should be chosen; one is winter fertilizer, which is to apply decomposed fertilizer in winter or early spring, and the other is to apply quick-acting fertilizer after the flowers fall.

4. Sunlight

Cherry blossoms like sunshine and warmth. They are suitable for growing in sunny places. In winter, they can be moved indoors so that they can bloom earlier.

5. Notes

1. Disease: Leaf blight is very common. Brown spots will appear on the leaves and the diseased leaves will die, so the diseased leaves should be cut off in time.

2. Pests: Common pests are red spiders and scale insects. After discovering the pests, you need to spray them with pesticides. Some pesticides may cause damage to them, so be careful to choose the right pesticides.
