Can baby's breath be cultivated hydroponically?

Gypsophila is a herbaceous plant of the genus Lithospermum of the Caryophyllaceae family. It can be grown in hydroponics, but the survival time of Gypsophila in hydroponics is not very long. It has a growth habit that is not tolerant to waterlogging, so soil culture is more suitable for Gypsophila.

Gypsophila hydroponic cultivation methods and key points

1. Choose branches:

Choose a healthy and strong plant of baby's breath, cut off its roots and excess leaves, wash the branches and dry them to remove excess water.

2. Selection of container:

Generally, transparent glass containers are chosen to ensure that the condition of the baby's breath can be observed during its growth process so that appropriate measures can be taken.

3. Control water addition:

Just add clean water to the container. If it is tap water, you need to leave it for two days to remove the chlorine in it. The water you pour in should be enough to fill about one-third of the container to avoid the stems and leaves of the baby's breath being submerged.

Precautions for growing baby's breath in water

1. Add nutrient solution:

When hydroponically cultivating baby's breath, you need to add nutrient solution regularly. Be careful not to add too much to avoid affecting the normal growth of baby's breath.

2. Suitable lighting:

When growing baby's breath in water, it needs to be exposed to light regularly, and in the summer it needs to be shaded to prevent strong sunlight exposure.
