Banyan tree cultivation methods and precautions

Banyan tree cultivation methods and precautions

1. Lighting:

Banyan trees like warm, humid, ventilated and well-lit environments. Shade measures should be taken when there is plenty of sunshine in the summer. In order to maintain the humidity of the air, some water can be sprayed appropriately. In winter, it is best to place it indoors and let it be exposed to sunlight.

2. Fertilization:

During its growth period, you can apply decomposed fertilizer once a month. The amount of fertilizer should not be too much. Generally, no fertilizer is required in summer and winter, but some nutrient solution can be sprayed during the growth period.

3. Watering:

Water it frequently to keep the soil in the pot moist enough, but be careful not to allow water to accumulate. The amount of watering can be determined based on the weather. In winter, when the temperature is low, reduce the amount of watering. In summer, you can spray some water to maintain humidity in the air.

4. Pruning:

Banyan trees generally grow quickly, so they need to be pruned appropriately in spring to increase light transmittance and reduce the occurrence of insect pests.

5. Notes:

1. Repotting: Repotting is necessary when nutrients are almost consumed. Generally, it is sufficient to repot once every two years. The best time is spring or late autumn. Add some base fertilizer when repotting.

2. Pruning: When pruning during the dormant period, white juice will flow out, which is very detrimental to its growth. In order to avoid more wounds, it is best to use a sharp knife when pruning.
