Cultivation methods and precautions of Aspidistra

Cultivation methods and precautions of Aspidistra

1. Soil

When growing Aspidistra, you must choose acidic soil, and try to choose loose and fertile soil, which can be mixed with leaf mold and garden soil.

2. Watering

Aspidistra has strict requirements for water. It needs to be sprayed with water frequently to keep it moist. The soil in the pot should always be kept moist, which is conducive to its growth and development. However, in autumn and winter, watering should be reduced appropriately to prevent water from stagnating or freezing in the pot.

3. Lighting

It is a shade-loving plant, so you don't need to put it in a bright, sunny location, but you also can't put it in an overly dark environment. Be sure not to expose it to direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure may burn the leaves.

4. Fertilization

Before planting, mix leaf mold base fertilizer in the soil and apply thin fertilizer water once a week. You can stop applying fertilizer when the temperature is low in winter.

5. Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. It likes warm environments and is afraid of cold environments, so the minimum temperature cannot be lower than 5 degrees Celsius.

6. Notes

1. Ventilation: When growing Aspidistra, proper ventilation is required. If the environment is too humid, it may be infected with pests and diseases.

2. Pests and diseases: When Aspidistra is attacked by pests and diseases, its leaves will rot. Do not ignore this situation but clean it up in time. In order to avoid increasing the source of infection, the rotten and diseased leaves should be trimmed off in time.
