The difference between mint and pomade

The difference between mint and pomade

1. Category

They belong to the same plant species, the Lamiaceae family, so they look somewhat similar. However, they are of different categories. The first plant belongs to the genus Spathiphyllum; the second plant belongs to the genus Mentha. Because of this difference, they differ in many properties, which also allows us to distinguish them.

2. Appearance

(1) Leaves: Here we mainly talk about the shape of their leaves. The leaves of the first plant are mostly oval with serrated edges. The leaves of the second plant are mostly lanceolate or round-lanceolate, and some are slender and round. Moreover, the first plant has fuzz on it, and it is very obvious. You can look at their pictures and it is easy to tell that the first two are of catnip and the last two are of mint.

(2) Flowers: First of all, the color. The former mostly blooms white flowers, while the latter mainly blooms lavender flowers. In addition, compared with the latter, the flowers of the former emit a sweet fragrance, which can be seen from its name "Pengpengxiang".

3. Distribution area

The first type is native to the tropics and is more commonly found in Africa, Europe, and southwestern Asia, but less commonly in my country. However, the second type of plant is mainly found in the temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, but is widely distributed in my country and is planted almost everywhere.
