Breeding methods and precautions for Fenglan

Breeding methods and precautions for Fenglan

1. Temperature

Orchids love shade and hate direct sunlight. They should be kept moist and avoid dryness. 15 to 30 degrees is the most suitable temperature for their growth. Above 35 degrees, they will grow poorly, and below 5 degrees, their growth will be seriously affected. It is best to place them in a ventilated and cool place, and maintain a moderate humidity. In hot summer, it is suitable to be placed outdoors for warming with a shading rate of 60%; in cold winter, it is suitable to be cultivated in a greenhouse with a shading rate of 40%.

2. Soil

Fenglan is suitable for growing in sandy soil containing humus. It can also use soil with more rotten leaves or soil from the mountain with more humus. Slightly acidic loose soil or soil containing more iron, the pH value should be 5-7. If you don't want soil, you can also place it on a board or a water-absorbing stone and sprinkle some water on it every day, and it will grow well. Pairing it with rotten wood is a preferred choice for many flower lovers, and it looks very artistic.

3. Watering

1. Spring

In spring, there is a lot of rain and little sunlight. Place the wind orchid in a well-ventilated outdoor area to allow it to absorb enough natural rainwater and fertilize it twice a month. No watering.

2. Summer

In summer, there is more sunlight and less rain. Place the wind orchid in a cool place and provide some light. You can arrange a suitable sunshade or mat and other equipment. A breeze is best. Because the weather is dry and hot, it needs more watering, and it needs to absorb more sunlight when watering.

3. Autumn

In autumn, there is less sunlight and rainfall, so you need to gradually reduce the amount of watering and only water when the sunlight is more sufficient at noon. At this time, the wind orchid does not need too much water and light, and it is best to keep the temperature at around 8 degrees.

4. Winter

In winter, the wind orchid enters a dormant period and its leaves begin to shrink and wrinkle, which is all normal. Keep the temperature above 5 degrees and you can safely spend the winter without frostbite. Avoid cold wind. Maintain 60-70% humidity, no need to water.
