Hydrangea tricholoma

Appearance characteristics: Its leaves are oval, oblong or ovate, about three to nine centimeters long and one to three and a half centimeters wide. The flowers are very large, five to eleven centimeters in diameter. Sepals are ovate or oblong, 2.5 to 5.5 cm long and 1.5 to 3.5 cm wide. It blooms from April to July and bears fruit from July to August.

Distribution: This species is concentrated in areas with an altitude of 2550-3800m in Tibet, 1700-4000m in Sichuan, and about 1400m in Henan Province, etc.

Late-flowering hydrangea

Appearance: Its leaves are generally broad, oval or ovate, with very large serrations on the edges. The flowers of this type are slightly smaller than the first type, with a diameter of four to eight centimeters. Its flowering period is slightly shorter, mainly from June to August.

Distribution area: Mainly in Yunnan Province and the western part of Sichuan Province. Its main distribution altitude is between 2,400 meters and 3,600 meters. We can usually easily find it in the bushes on the hillside or in the woods.

Hydrangea microphylla

Appearance characteristics: The leaves of this species are relatively small, oval or elliptical, one to three centimeters long, and 0.5 to 2 centimeters wide. There are also some shallow serrations on the edges of its leaves, which are relatively dense. Compared with the first two, its flowers are also smaller, with a diameter of only two to four centimeters. Its flowering period is from April to June, and its fruiting period is from August to September.

Distribution area: Mainly distributed in the north of Yunnan Province and the southwest of Sichuan Province in my country, with the main altitude range being 2,400 to 3,000 meters.
