Cultivation methods and precautions of fruit vine

Soil suitable for fruit vines

To grow fruit vines, you need to use loose, fertile, well-drained soil, such as humus-rich decomposed soil or peat soil. You can also mix plant rot, moss, bark, etc. into garden soil to make your own suitable potting soil for planting.

The growth temperature of fruit vine

The temperature that is more suitable for the growth of fruit vines is about 15-30℃, generally 21-27℃ in spring and summer, and about 16-21℃ in autumn and winter. If the temperature is lower than 16℃ in winter, the plant will stop growing and developing. It should be noted that the cultivation temperature must not drop below 10℃, otherwise the plants will easily be frozen.

Light requirements of fruit vines

Fruit vines like light and need to be provided with sufficient sunlight during the cultivation process. If they do not get enough sunlight for a long time, the fruit vines will grow slower and slower and flowering will be delayed. However, please note that although this flower has high requirements for lighting time, it is afraid of strong light. When the sunlight is strong in summer, you should pay attention to shading and do not expose it to direct sunlight.

How to water vines

The fruit vine has a high demand for water and cannot lack water. The soil must always be maintained in a slightly moist state. During the period of vigorous growth, the leaves need to be sprayed with water frequently. In winter, reduce watering. Please note that this flower is very sensitive to water quality. It is best to use water with low hardness and do not use tap water directly.

How to fertilize fruit vines

During the growth period of the fruit vine, apply light liquid fertilizer every fifteen days or so. This flower plant has some tiny scales at the base of its leaves that absorb nutrients and water, so liquid fertilizer can also be sprayed directly on them.

Repotting and soil changing

When changing the pot and soil for the fruit vine, you need to apply some base fertilizer. Generally, you need to spread 3 cm thick base fertilizer on the bottom of the pot and then put the soil in.

Fruit vine pests and diseases

The main disease that harms fruit vines is leaf spot. If you encounter this disease, you can spray it with Bordeaux carbendazim solution for treatment. Sometimes the flower will encounter scale insect pests, which are extremely harmful and must be eradicated in time. If you want to spray pesticides to kill insects, you should do it when they are just hatched, otherwise the pesticide will not be effective after the insect shell is formed. Generally speaking, insects can be removed by repeatedly and gently wiping the plants with alcohol. This method can completely eliminate even larvae that are invisible to the naked eye. It is a relatively simple and safe method of pest control.
