Difference Between Acacia and Julibrissin

Difference Between Acacia and Julibrissin

1. The difference between leaves

The leaves and appearance of Acacia and Albizia Julibrissin are also very different. The leaves of Acacia are very small, with about 20 pairs in number, while the leaves of Albizia Julibrissin are relatively larger, with only a dozen pairs in number. Acacia is a small tree, about 2-4 meters tall, with brown and rough bark. There are many branches, and the thorns are about 2 cm long. Albizia Julibrissin is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 16 meters tall, with small, angular branches.

2. The difference between flowers

There is also a difference in the flowering time of Acacia and Julibrissin. Acacia usually grows leaves after it blooms, while the order of flowering of Albizia Julibrissin is the opposite, with the flowers blooming only after the leaves grow out. The colors of the flowers of the two plants are also different when they bloom. The flowers of the acacia are golden yellow, while the flowers of the julibrissin are pink or white.

3. The difference between pods

The pods of Acacia and Albizia Julibrissin are also very different. The pods of Acacia are brown in color, cylindrical and relatively swollen, about 3-7 cm long and 8-15 mm wide. The pods of Albizia Julibrissin are long and strip-shaped, 9-15 cm long and about 1.5-2.5 cm wide. There are fine soft hairs on the young pods.

4. Differences in seedling raising methods

There are differences between the seedling raising methods of Acacia and Albizia Julibrissin. There are two seedling raising methods for Acacia, namely nutrient pot and nursery seedling raising. There is only one method for growing Albizia Julibrissin seedlings, which is growing them in nutrient pots. Growing seedlings in nutrient pots is done by finely sifting pond soil or turf soil and mixing it evenly with fertilizer to make nutrient soil. Adding a small amount of trace elements to the nutrient soil can prevent soil diseases and pests from harming the seedlings and ensure the healthy growth of the seedlings. Nursery seedling raising: When raising seedlings in a nursery, choose a place facing the sun, with thick loam or sandy soil and convenient drainage and irrigation.

5. Differences in medical value

Acacia has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects. Albizia Julibrissin has a good therapeutic effect on neurasthenia caused by forgetfulness, chest tightness, etc.

The above points are the differences between the two plants that I have summarized. I hope they will be helpful to you.
