Main species of Juniper

Main species of Juniper

1. Cypress

It is a variety of Juniper, a clumping spherical or oblate shrub with leaves that have many scales and small branches that grow densely together. But the tree shape is very short, and it grows in clusters, which looks very good. There are also many thorny leaves in the middle of the scaly leaves. This kind of bonsai is also planted in large areas, and looks very valuable for appreciation.

2. Cypress

The shape of the tree is irregular, with branches growing in an interlaced manner. A small number of large branches are twisted at an angle, and the small branches are arranged very closely, with many scaly leaves on them. The shape of the tree crown is like a cylindrical tower, which looks very spectacular. The branches are still spreading straight upward, but some of them have a tendency to twist and rise. The twigs are also very dense, and they are clustered together in several equal lengths on the top of the branches. The scale leaves are also arranged very closely. When they are relatively young, their color is light yellow-green, and later they will slowly become emerald green. The fruit is blue with a slight layer of white powder on it. This kind of plant is grown in many places.

3. Tower cypress

When we hear this name, we should know its general shape. It is like a tower. The branches are not flat. Many of them grow obliquely along the main trunk. The twigs are also very dense. There are two types of leaves, and most of them are diamond-shaped leaves. It is sometimes called cylindrical cypress and is very commonly seen in many places in North China.

This variety of juniper has a lot of leaves, but there are also many thorns on the leaves, and a few smaller scale leaves in the middle. When they grow well or are planted in groups, they are all green and each one looks like a tower, which looks really spectacular. Therefore, it is often used in gardens and has a very high ornamental value.
