1. Land preparation and ridge making

When preparing the land, we usually choose a place with convenient transportation, sufficient sunlight, deep soil, rich in organic matter, convenient drainage and irrigation, and loose and fertile soil as a good planting site. Drainage ditches should also be dug around the area to prevent water from entering the soil. Before planting, the soil must be deeply plowed and exposed to the sun for a period of time before ridge preparation and hook pulling can be started. The width of the ridge is generally 100 cm, and the width of the ditch is about 20 cm. Start digging holes according to a certain distance between rows of plants. The depth of the holes is generally 30 cm, and the diameter is 30 cm. In addition, add an appropriate amount of farm fertilizer to the bottom of the hole, mix it evenly, and then add an appropriate amount of soil.

2. Planting at the right time

The date palm seedlings grow relatively slowly. After growing in the nutrient bag for one year, the seedlings will only have 3 to 5 leaves. At this time you can start planting in large fields, and the planting season is generally from April to September. When planting, carefully remove the nutrient bag to avoid affecting its survival rate due to loose culture soil. The best planting depth is to keep the seedlings in the bag just above the soil surface. After planting, water it thoroughly to allow it to take root.

3. Fertilization

After planting, keep the soil moist. One month after planting, the seedlings will begin to grow. At this time, you should start adding fertilizer in time, and you can add some compound fertilizer. During the growing season, apply a little compound fertilizer once a month, either dry or in water. You can start adding potassium fertilizer after September. After a period of careful cultivation, the size of the base of the plant can reach more than 25 to 30 centimeters, and the natural height is more than 2 meters. At this time, it can be used in landscaping. Therefore, applying fertilizer is also essential.
