How to reproduce the tuberose flower

How to reproduce the tuberose flower

Leaf cutting propagation

This method requires breaking off a piece of relatively healthy and mature tube leaf at the bottom of the plant and setting it aside. The base of the picked tube leaf should be inserted obliquely into the soil, exposing most of it to the air, so that photosynthesis can be more sufficient, and roots can be taken faster, and the survival rate will also be increased. It is recommended to use the leaves of other plants to shade the tube-leaved floribunda, create a diffuse light environment, avoid excessive water loss from the leaves, and keep the soil moist, otherwise it will be difficult for the roots to grow.

Propagation by cuttings

This method of propagation requires cutting off a relatively thick and healthy branch for future use, and before that we need to remove the leaves below. Wait until the wounds on the branches have shrunk before you can start cuttings to avoid stem rot. If the base is rotten, be sure to cut off the rotten part and wait until it is dry before taking cuttings. The recommended time is spring or autumn.

Layering and high pressure propagation

This method utilizes the aerial roots that appear on the stems of our plants and come into contact with the soil, allowing for safe and rapid reproduction. This is especially useful if you are breeding in small quantities at home. The specific method is to soak the seedling block in water for a while, then take it out without cutting it completely, and wrap the place where the aerial roots grow with a dark plastic bag. This can avoid exposure to sunlight and absorb heat to keep warm. A syringe is needed to replenish water. When replenishing water later, you can add a little diluted fertilizer. After two or three months, if the roots are exposed, you can cut them.
