How to cultivate and fertilize the fish mouth spider plant

How to cultivate and fertilize the fish mouth spider plant

1. Soil

When growing spider plants, you need to prepare soil that has good drainage, is loose, breathable and rich in humus. Use two parts of garden soil, two parts of leaf mold and one part of river sand to mix them to improve the drainage and air permeability. This mixture can meet the plant's requirements. Note that the soil must be disinfected before use.

2. Lighting

It likes light and can only carry out photosynthesis and grow more vigorously in an environment with good light. Normally, just place it in a place with scattered light, and avoid strong light in summer, otherwise the strong light will burn the plant, causing yellow leaves or even no flowering.

3. Watering

It prefers a slightly moist environment, especially during the growing season, so it needs to be watered regularly. In spring and autumn, you need to water the plants every two or three days. In summer, when the temperature is high, you need to water the plants every day. The plants grow slowly in winter, so you need to control the water appropriately, and it is best to stop watering first. Note that no matter what season it is, there should be no accumulation of water in the potting soil.

4. Fertilization

It needs a lot of nutrients during the growing season, flowering period and after the flowers fade, so it needs to be fertilized and nourished reasonably. Usually, decomposed organic fertilizer should be applied every half a month during the growing season, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied during the flowering period, once a month. After the flowers fade, nitrogen fertilizer should be added. Note that raw fertilizer or concentrated fertilizer should not be used at any time.
