Carnivorous plants

Carnivorous plants

Nepenthes

Nepenthes is a very common carnivorous plant with unique insect-catching pitchers on its surface that can be used to catch insects.

There are many varieties of pitcher plants, and their appearances are also different. Many people like the peculiar appearance of pitcher plants, so sometimes they are grown at home for viewing. Some people also grow pitcher plants at home in the hope of reducing mosquitoes in their homes.

Pinguicula

The Pinguecula is also a plant that can catch insects. It can lure insects onto its leaves. When the insects fall onto the leaves, they will be firmly stuck to the leaves by the Pinguecula, which then liquefies the insect's corpse and absorbs nutrients.

One of the characteristics of the butterfly fly itself is that it can switch between carnivorous and non-carnivorous according to the seasonal flowers of the red spider lily.

Bladderwort

Utricularia is a peculiar plant that belongs to the aquatic class. It looks like ordinary aquatic plants, but in fact, under water, bladderwort can prey on small animals, such as tadpoles, which will be eaten by it.

Sundew

Sundew is a beautiful ornamental plant that looks crystal clear. It can also attract insects, prey on them, and then digest them. Generally, insects will die within 15 minutes after being captured by sundews. It can be said that sundews are very deadly to insects.

Venus Flytrap

The Venus flytrap is also a very common carnivorous plant. It eats many kinds of food, including spiders, ants, etc. When it finds an insect appearing, it will open its leaves and eat the insect, which actually looks very cute.
