What are the varieties of clover?

White Clover

White clover, also known as white clover, has emerald green leaves and a long green period. It is distributed wild in Xinjiang, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, the three northeastern provinces, Inner Mongolia and other places in my country. At the same time, it is a lawn grass with great ornamental value, and the lawn it forms is neat and beautiful. It has strong adaptability and is resistant to heat and cold, and grows well in partial shade. It is not very demanding on the soil. White clover is beneficial to soil and water conservation. It can also be mixed with other cool-season and warm-season grasses to extend the green period.

Red Clover

Red clover, also known as red clover or red grass, is one of the main forage grasses in marine areas. It is about 30-60cm tall, with palm-shaped leaves and inconspicuous fine teeth on the veins, and purple-red flowers. It likes a cool and humid climate and can overwinter in the open in northern my country where the minimum winter temperature is -20 to -25 °C. It is not suitable for growing in high temperature environments and may dry up in midsummer. It must be watered in arid areas, otherwise it will not grow normally. Red clover has a large coverage, red flowers and green grass, and has good greening and beautification value. It can not only be planted in patches to build a large-area enclosed ornamental lawn, but can also be planted among other plants as embellishment and inlay, and can also be used as a soil and water conservation plant.

Trifolium variegatum

Hybrid clover, also known as miscellaneous clover and Swedish clover, is native to Sweden. Some cultivated varieties can now be used as ornamental lawns and flower lawns. As a separate species, hybrid clover is not a hybrid of red clover and white clover as everyone thinks. It prefers warm and humid climatic conditions and is relatively shade-tolerant and can grow under sparse woods. It is relatively heat-resistant, survives the summer well in southern my country, and has strong resistance to diseases and pests, so it can be managed in a relatively extensive manner. The hybrid clover has a well-developed root system and strong adaptability, so its seeds can fall to the ground and regenerate on their own.
