Hydrangea soil cuttings

This season happens to be the time when hydrangeas bloom. If you see hydrangeas that are about to wither, you can just cut the branches back and use them for cuttings. The survival rate will definitely be no problem!

Cutting steps:

1. Choose sturdy hydrangea branches as cuttings. It is best to choose branches that have bloomed that year. Such branches are rich in nutrients and will take root very quickly after cuttings.

2. Shorten the hydrangea branches, and the length of each cutting should be about 5-7cm. Soak the trimmed hydrangea cuttings in a solution of carbendazim for more than half an hour.

3. Fill the seedling box with the soil needed for cuttings. The soil can be made by mixing peat soil and perlite in a ratio of 2:1, and then watering it thoroughly.

4. Insert the hydrangea cuttings soaked in carbendazim into the soil of the seedling box, and then place them in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. Water them when you see the surface of the potting soil turn white.

5. The temperature is high in summer, and hydrangeas take root very quickly. In about 30-40 days, you can see that the hydrangea cuttings have grown dense roots.

6. After the hydrangea branches have taken root, you can plant them in pots. The soil must be loose and breathable nutrient soil, then water it thoroughly and place it in a cool and ventilated place for a period of time.

Bougainvillea in water

Generally speaking, water cuttings take root faster than soil cuttings, so if any flower lovers want the cuttings to take root faster, then use the water cutting method. Today Huahua will introduce to you a new method of water insertion, called the water-inserted gauze root promotion method.

Cutting steps:

1. Trim the bougainvillea cuttings needed for cuttings and apply a little rooting powder; the size of the gauze can be adjusted at any time according to the thickness of the bougainvillea cuttings.

2. Fold the gauze in half, wrap the bottom of the bougainvillea cuttings, then tie it with a thin thread and soak the gauze with water.

3. Fill a clean plastic bottle with clean water. Put the bougainvillea cuttings in and plug the bottle mouth with cotton to prevent the water in the plastic bottle from evaporating. The bottom of the cuttings should be about 1 cm away from the water surface.

4. Wrap the bougainvillea cuttings with a plastic bag to keep them moist, and then place them in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. Rehydrate the gauze once every 10 days or so.

5. In about 40 days, the bougainvillea cuttings will take root.

6. After rooting, put the gauze and the rooted bougainvillea branches directly into the pot. The potting soil must be loose and breathable. Then place it in a cool and ventilated place for a period of time and then move it to the sun. After being potted, new buds soon sprouted from the bougainvillea.

Leaf cuttings of Gloxinia

In addition to soil cuttings and water cuttings, the easiest way to propagate flowers with thick leaves is to use one leaf for cuttings.

Cutting steps:

1. Use a knife to cut a leaf diagonally from the mother plant of Gloxinia.

2. A leaf of Gloxinia can be divided into small pieces for cuttings, so that you can get more pots of Gloxinia.

3. The soil for Gloxinia leaf cuttings should be loose and breathable nutrient soil. Peat soil, perlite, and vermiculite are all acceptable. Insert the leaves of Gloxinia obliquely to a depth of about 1/2 of the leaves, then place the flowerpot in a place with sufficient diffuse light.

4. The temperature is high in summer, and the gloxinia planted with leaf cuttings can take root in about half a month.

5. After the African violet has taken root, transfer it to a flowerpot and continue to care for it. New leaves will soon grow. Because there are many hairs on the leaves of Gloxinia, you must not let them get wet whether it is watering or raining, otherwise it will easily cause the leaves to rot.

Division of white palm

Finally, Huahua wants to talk about a method that can get a new pot of flowers without using cuttings. If flower lovers don’t want to do the troublesome work of cuttings, then just divide the plants directly.

Steps:

1. If you flower lovers feel that you have divided too many anthuriums into one pot and it is almost full, then you can solve this problem by dividing the pot!

2. Turn the potting soil and the anthurium upside down to remove them from the pot. If you find that the soil in the pot is too dry and difficult to take out, then water it first, then press the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot with your thumb, and you can easily remove the white calla lily from the pot.

3. Clean the soil around the roots of the white calla lily. Be careful not to damage the delicate roots.

4. Divide the white calla lilies into pots. Each plant must have a root system, otherwise it is impossible for them to survive.

5. Put nutrient soil in the flowerpot and replant the divided calla lilies. Place them in a cool and ventilated place for a few days, and then place them in a place with sufficient scattered light for continued maintenance.
