How to grow the succulent plant Jade Fan

Jade fan cultivation lighting

Jade fan prefers light, so sufficient light must be ensured in winter. In the hot summer weather, the jade fan plant will enter a dormant state, during which time its growth will be slow or even stagnate completely. It should be placed in a ventilated and cool place, provide shade and control watering.

Water and fertilizer management of Jade Fan

Jade fan likes a growing environment with humid air and needs to be sprayed with water frequently during its growth period. It should be noted that water droplets should not stay on the surface of the plant for a long time, especially the growing point, which can easily cause rot. You can cover it with a transparent beverage bottle for maintenance, which can increase the humidity in the air, which is beneficial for making the leaves of the jade fan thicker, brighter in color, and of good quality. Spring and autumn are the peak growth periods for Jade Fan plants. At this time, the soil in the pot should be kept moist but not waterlogged. Apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer about once every 10-15 days to provide the necessary nutrients. If the temperature is above 10℃ in winter, you can continue watering. When the temperature is around 5℃, the growth of the jade fan will be slow and watering needs to be controlled.

Repotting of Jade Fan

Repotting should be done once every spring or autumn. The potting soil should be fertile, loose, well-drained sandy soil. It can be prepared with leaf mold, vermiculite and a small amount of bone meal. Since the root system of Jade Fan is well developed and deep, a deeper flower pot should be chosen for planting. In addition, you can also put some fine-grained Akadama soil on the soil surface, which will help increase drainage while also having a certain aesthetic appeal.
