Pyracantha flowering period

Pyracantha not only has a beautiful tree shape and bright red fruits, but it also blooms.

The flowering period of Pyracantha is from March to May, and the flowers bloom most luxuriantly in summer.

Pyracantha flowers have an inflorescence that grows in an umbel shape, the petals are white and round, the pedicels are covered with hairless hairs, the calyx tube is bell-shaped, hairless and the sepals are triangular ovate.

Care of Firethorn Flowering

Pyracantha flowers are white, densely clustered, and have a simple and elegant fragrance. So how can we care for them to make them bloom more?

First of all, Pyracantha prefers strong light, so there must be sufficient light to promote the growth of Pyracantha flower buds, more sprouts, and more flowers.

The second is the management of fertilization and watering: during the growing period of Pyracantha, a large amount of fertilizer should be applied, and during the flowering period, phosphorus fertilizer and potassium decomposed fertilizer should be applied. Potassium fertilizer should be applied during the fruit-bearing period. Be careful not to use quick-acting fertilizers.

Watering should be sufficient, and be careful not to let rain fall on Pyracantha during the flowering period, otherwise it will affect the pollination and growth of the flowers.

When watering, just check whether the soil in the pot is dry. If it is not dry, don't water it. Pyracantha is afraid of waterlogging, and too much moisture will cause the roots to rot.

Finally, the Pyracantha needs to be repotted every year in late autumn. The old roots on the edge of the pot should be cut off, and then base fertilizer should be applied, which will encourage more flowers to bloom in the next year.

Pruning is also required from October to November every autumn. You can cut off the nutrient branches and keep the short branches. Promote the growth and differentiation of flower buds.

The flower language of Pyracantha

The flower of Pyracantha is white and delicate. Its flower language symbolizes compassion and expresses people's yearning for kindness and beauty.

Another flower language is auspiciousness, which can bring good luck to people and prosperity in the days to come.

So you can also give Pyracantha to your friends to express your blessings to them!
