Things to note when growing lilac

First of all, lilac cultivation must be carried out from its childhood. During the lilac seedling period, wind protection measures must be taken. Bamboo can be used to fix the trunk of the lilac plant to reduce damage caused by shaking.

The second is weeding: weeding should be carried out from July to October every year. Remove all the grass around the lilac plants, but do not throw the grass away. Cover the plants with the grass and use it as green manure.

After the seedlings grow into large ones, they can be properly pruned. Cutting them 30 cm from the ground will help the growth of branches and leaves.

Finally, the growing environment: Lilac likes sunlight and moisture, but is drought-resistant, so it should not be watered too much. However, in the dry spring, you can water it thoroughly once during budding and flowering to reserve enough water.

It requires fertile, well-drained sandy soil. Lilac does not like heavy fertilizers so there is no need to apply too much fertilizer, otherwise it will affect flowering.

The flowering and growth of lilac requires repotting and replacement of soil every three years or so. When repotting, trim the roots and remove long and old roots.
