What are the cultivation methods and precautions of the green treasure tree?

Green treasure tree cultivation method

The Green Treasure Tree likes a moist, warm, semi-shady environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 18-28 degrees. It is not cold-resistant, and the maintenance temperature in winter needs to be above 5 degrees. It likes sunlight, but is not resistant to strong light exposure, so it needs shade in summer. It is suitable for planting in fertile, moist, well-drained light loam.

Watering method

The soil of the Emerald Tree should always be kept moist, but there should be no water accumulation. In the hot summer, the evaporation is large, so it can be watered once a day. In the spring and autumn, water it once every 2-3 days. In the winter, watering should be controlled. Generally, a little watering along the edge of the pot is sufficient every month. In the rainy season, attention should be paid to drainage to avoid water accumulation which may cause root rot.

Fertilization method

During the growing season, the Green Treasure Tree should be fertilized once every half a month with diluted bean cake fertilizer, which can promote flower bud differentiation and plant growth. During the flowering period, spray 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution. Pay attention to applying thin fertilizers frequently and do not apply concentrated fertilizers.

Pruning methods

During the growth period of the Green Treasure Tree, dense and overlapping branches and leaves should be thinned out to increase ventilation and light transmission. In spring, old, sick, and weak branches and leaves can be cut off to avoid competing with the main branches for nutrients.

Precautions for cultivating green treasure tree

The Emerald Tree cannot tolerate low temperature environments. In winter, it needs to be moved to a bright sunny place indoors, and the room temperature cannot be lower than 5°C, otherwise the plant will be frozen. In summer, cooling and shading are needed to avoid burns on the leaves of the Emerald Tree. Excessive sunlight can cause the leaves of the Emerald Tree to change color or even fall off.
