Gerbera flowering and its management

Gerbera flowering period

The flowering period of gerbera is quite long, generally from November to April of the following year. It can also bloom in all seasons, but it is more prosperous in spring and autumn.

The flowers of African daisy are large and colorful, with tongue-shaped petals that are double.

Management of the flowering period of gerbera

After gerbera enters the flowering period, good flowering management is required.

The principle of watering is "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do." Generally, drip irrigation is used for watering. Do not water among the leaves, and pay attention to maintaining a high air humidity. Fertilization should be mainly based on phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and the application of nitrogen fertilizers should be reduced.

In order to ensure that the gerbera plants have sufficient nutrition, it is necessary to promptly remove excess flower buds and cut off old and yellow leaves to reduce nutrient consumption.

During the flowering period in summer, you need to pay attention to shade and maintain ventilation; during the flowering period in winter, you need to pay attention to keeping warm to prevent excessive temperature difference between day and night.

Gerbera flowering period regulation

The flowering period of gerbera is very easy to control. Keep the room temperature above 12℃ so that the gerbera plants do not enter a dormant state and can continue to grow and bloom.
