How to cultivate pickerel grass

Light and temperature

Pickerel grass likes light and warmth and is not very cold-resistant. To cultivate pikeweed, sufficient light is required and the temperature should be maintained between 18℃ and 35℃, within a warm range. If the temperature is below 18℃, the growth will slow down, and it will stop growing below 10℃. Note that the pickerel grass is afraid of cold and needs to be overwintered in winter. The temperature should not be lower than 5℃.

Water and fertilizer management

Pickerel grass likes moisture and fertilizer. When cultivating it, water and fertilizer must meet its needs. Pickerel grass is suitable for growing in still water, generally shallow water below 20cm is more suitable. When potting, fill the pot and maintain a certain water layer.

Reproduction method

The propagation of pickerel grass is mainly by sowing and division. Propagation by division is carried out in primary and summer, and the base of the pickerelweed plant can be cut. Seed propagation is carried out in spring, and the temperature for seed germination should be kept at around 25℃.

Pickerel grass is an aquatic plant with relatively few diseases and pests. During the breeding process, protection is needed to avoid the occurrence of diseases and pests.

Winter management

Pickerel grass is not cold-resistant and needs to be protected from the cold when the temperature drops in winter. The potted plants of pikeweed can be watered and placed indoors for the winter, keeping the temperature above 5°C to help the pikeweed survive the winter safely.
