Cultivation methods and precautions of white chrysanthemum

How to cultivate white chrysanthemum

soil

Potted white chrysanthemum prefers loose and fertile sandy soil, which needs to be rich in humus. Generally, mixed soil can meet this requirement. You can mix garden soil with river sand, or leaf mold, slag, peat, etc. to make the soil. When potting, you can first put some broken tiles at the bottom of the pot to facilitate drainage.

Light and temperature

White chrysanthemum likes sufficient light and a warm climate, but is not resistant to high temperatures. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 15℃ and 25℃. For daily care of white chrysanthemum, it is necessary to ensure sufficient light. If it is grown indoors, the white chrysanthemum pot can be placed on windowsills, balconies, etc. where it can be exposed to sunlight. However, the sunlight is relatively strong in summer, and white chrysanthemum is afraid of strong light and needs to be maintained in the shade. Similarly, white chrysanthemum is not resistant to high temperatures in summer and needs shade to cool down, while the winter overwintering temperature should be around 5°C, so make sure to ensure sufficient light.

Watering and fertilizing

The watering and fertilization of white chrysanthemum should be carried out according to the specific situation. More water and fertilizer are needed during the vigorous growth period. Watering is generally done alternately between dry and wet. In order for the plant to grow healthily during the growth period, the soil in the pot needs to be kept moist. In autumn and winter, the growth of plants slows down, so you need to pay attention to controlling watering. In addition to applying some base fertilizer when potting, nitrogen fertilizer should be used mainly during the period of vigorous growth. Be careful not to apply concentrated fertilizer.

Precautions for the cultivation of white chrysanthemum

Topping

Potted white chrysanthemums are generally not topped, but by pinching the tops you can control the height of the plant and make the plant fluffy and beautiful in shape, so you can choose to pinch the tops appropriately.

Reproduction method

White chrysanthemum is commonly propagated by sowing, usually in August and September, and can also be propagated by cuttings.
