Strelitzia reginae is not cold-resistant. The most suitable growth temperature is 15-25℃, and it will stop growing below 8℃. In the north, the flowers should be moved indoors or into a plastic greenhouse to overwinter.

Watering

Strelitzia reginae is afraid of waterlogging. It should have sufficient water during the summer growth period and the autumn and winter flowering period. After flowering in early spring, watering should be reduced appropriately. In summer, water the plants once a day. Use a spray bottle to spray clean water on the leaves and the surrounding ground in the morning and evening to increase the air humidity. Reduce watering in winter and keep the soil slightly dry. If you let it continue to grow, you should water it more often.

Fertilization

Strelitzia likes fertilizer, and appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be added to the soil. During the growing season, active humic acid liquid fertilizer should be applied every two weeks or so.
