How to trim the roots of lucky bamboo

How to trim the roots of lucky bamboo

one. Prepare:

First check whether your bamboo branches need to be pruned. If there are many roots, it means that pruning is needed. Get a sharp tool and pick a sunny day to start pruning.

two. Take bamboo:

First move the vase to a place where it is convenient for pruning, remove the ornaments hanging on the bamboo branches, and then carefully take the bamboo branches out of the vase. If you find that the bamboo branches are stuck in the mouth of the vase due to their dense roots and it is not convenient to take them out for a while, you can pour out the water in the bottle first. With the help of some tools, carefully take it out.

three. examine:

After taking the bamboo branches out of the water, check them carefully, first looking at the roots to see if any are rotten or damaged, or if any are old or not growing well.

Four. prune:

If problematic roots are found, they can be removed directly with tools. Pay attention when operating and be careful not to accidentally damage the new roots, which usually have a layer of tender white epidermis.

five. Bottling:

Wash the pruned bamboo branches with water and then place them in a vase containing nutrient solution.

six. Maintenance:

After pruning, change the water every 3 days. After a week, you can put some small charcoal in the water to prevent root rot. During the maintenance process, the vase should not be moved for at least half a month, so that new roots can grow after half a month.
