How to cultivate jade bell

Temperature and light

Although the Jade Bell Plant is a tropical plant, it naturally prefers a cool climate environment. High temperature and severe cold will cause the Jade Bell Plant to temporarily stop growing. The temperature in winter should not be lower than 5 degrees Celsius, and the average temperature should be maintained between 10-12 degrees Celsius to ensure its safe wintering and normal flowering.

Jade bell is a short-day plant. In summer, the light is strong, so it should be placed in sparse sunlight, and in winter it should not be exposed to too much sunlight.

Watering and fertilizing

The Jade Bell Plant is a relatively drought-tolerant plant and can withstand periods of drought.

During the growth period, the Jade Bell needs to be supplemented with water, generally once a week. Reduce watering in summer, especially during rainy seasons.

When planting jade bell, it is necessary to apply sufficient base fertilizer. Fertilize once a month during the growing season, apply less nitrogen fertilizer and more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

Things to note when growing jade bells

Maintenance

Winter is the flowering period. Before the flowering period, the light exposure time must be controlled and should not exceed 12 hours.

Shade is needed in summer, but sufficient sunlight must be ensured, otherwise it will cause excessive growth.

When fertilizing, be careful not to apply too much nitrogen fertilizer.

Pay attention to pests and diseases.

Reproduction

The main method of propagation of Jade Bell is cuttings, and leaf cuttings are also a common method. But there is a disadvantage of leaf cuttings, that is, the small buds grown from leaf cuttings will not survive easily due to the lack of chlorophyll.
