How to grow Huayuejin

Lighting requirements

The flower moon brocade is native to Transvaal and Natal provinces in South Africa. It likes a warm, dry and sunny environment.

April to November is the main growing season for Huayuejin, and it can be maintained in full sunlight. Colorful, bright and vivid.

Water and fertilizer management

When watering during the growing period, follow the principle of "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly if you do," to avoid waterlogging in the soil and causing root rot.

When it is cold in winter, water sparingly and place it in a place with sufficient light.

Fertilizer can be applied once a week during the growing season. The fertilizer should be decomposed thin liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer.

Fertilization should be stopped in winter. In cold conditions, the flower moon brocade grows slowly. It cannot be allowed to be in a state of nutrient saturation, otherwise the roots will easily rot.

Reproduction method

The propagation of Huayuejin can be done by leaf cuttings and cuttings.

Flowering period

The flowering period of Huayuejin is autumn. The flowers are star-shaped, white, elegant and fresh.

Common pests of Huayuejin: scale insects, red spiders, white spiders, and root-knot nematodes.

The frequent breeding of diseases and insect pests of Huayuejin is caused by poor ventilation. During the hot summer season, pay attention to ventilation to prevent a stuffy environment.

Note on changing pots

The flower moon brocade needs to be repotted every two years, in spring or autumn. The potting soil should be loose and breathable, with good drainage properties.

Be careful to protect the roots when repotting.
