Flowering period of Yamato Nishiki

Under natural conditions, Yamato Nishiki will bloom in May, but sometimes it will begin to slowly sprout flower arrows in April. June to July is its peak flowering period, and the flowers will slowly wither in September or October. Therefore, the flowering period of Yamato Nishiki is approximately from June to October.

How many years does it take for Yamato Nishiki to bloom?

Not all plants can bloom. Whether it is sowing or leaf cuttings, it usually takes three years for mature plants to bloom. If it is a seedling grown from cuttings, it may grow faster. If properly cared for, it can bloom within the same year.

Below is the flowering process of Yamato Kinshasa taken by a flower lover named Coward. Starting from the beginning of April, Yamato Kinshasa sprouted flower arrows and gradually formed buds and bloomed, which lasted for two months.

This is what it looked like in early April.

After a month of growth, the flower arrow grew taller and produced buds. This is what it looked like in late April, early May.

Nearly another month passed, in late May, the buds finally bloomed. Its flowers are very small, only slightly larger than soybeans, but the colors are beautiful.

Slowly around June and July, the flowers withered!
