How to plant oranges

How to plant oranges

1. Prepare the soil

When planting oranges in pots, the choice of pots and loam is very important. The material of the pots needs to be breathable. Clay pots can be used to ensure permeability. There should be drainage holes at the bottom to facilitate water to flow out from below, avoiding the situation where too much water can only accumulate in the pots. The choice of loam is also critical. It needs to be drainable and breathable. It can be mixed with peat soil, river sand, perlite, etc. It should be placed in the sun to dry and disinfect before use to avoid being affected by pests and diseases.

2. Seed Processing

We can remove the seeds from the oranges we usually eat. First, select plump, firm and juicy fruits in the market, then eat the oranges and take out the seeds inside. After taking out the seeds, wash them under running water and thoroughly remove the pulp. Do not leave any residue on them to avoid rotting after being planted. Then soak it in clean water, change the water once a day, and take it out after about 7 days.

3. Planting seeds

Plant the selected seeds in a flowerpot. Pay attention to the spacing between them. They should not be too dense. The seeds should be about 1.2 cm away from the soil surface. Water to keep it moist. Apply a small amount of fertilizer every 10 days after germination.
