Different categories

When you think of carnations, you think of mothers. You think of flowers that look like only one. But that’s not the case:

According to flowering habits, it can be divided into: one-season flowering type and four-season flowering type.

According to the size of the flowers: large flower type, small flower type.

According to the cultivation method, it can be divided into: open-field cultivation type (flowering once a season) and greenhouse cultivation type (continuous flowering).

According to the cut flower pruning method, it can be divided into: standard type (one flower per branch with large flowers) and scattered type (multiple flowers per branch with small flowers).

According to different uses: cut flower varieties and potted varieties.

Sort by color

Bright red varieties: The flower colors include bright red, pink and mixed colors.

Purple varieties: flowers are purple.

Flesh-colored varieties: agate, light yellow, yellow, etc.

The most common classification method

Flower border type: It is very cold-resistant, the plant is short, the pedicels are short, and it blooms in spring and summer.

Malmé type: It is very cold-resistant, easy to cultivate in the open field, has many flower stems, and the petal ends are wavy.

Four-season carnation: The plant is tall, the flower stems are strong, the flowers are large and double-petaled, and it is generally cultivated in a greenhouse. This variety is often used for cut flowers.
