What to do if the leaves of Haworthia stripeda turn yellow

Reasonable watering

Haworthia does not like water because its roots are relatively fragile. Excessive watering or excessive dryness will lead to poor root growth and cause yellowing of leaves.

When caring for the Haworthia striata, you must water it appropriately and keep the soil moist during the growing season, but do not water it too much to prevent the soil from becoming too wet. In short, water when it is dry, don't water when it is wet, and if you water too much, loosen the soil, ventilate, and expose it to the sun.

Proper fertilization

The yellowing of the leaves of Haworthia may be due to fertilization. Excessive fertilization may cause fertilizer damage, or insufficient fertilization may lead to nutrient deficiency, and yellowing of the leaves is inevitable.

Haworthia does not like fertilizer. Some people will water the plant with fertilizer during the growing season in order to make it grow stronger. This is correct, but the degree of fertilization must be controlled. Haworthia only needs to be fertilized with thin layers of fertilizer 1 to 2 times in spring each year. No additional fertilizer is required at other times.

Proper lighting

Light is also one of the factors that cause the leaves of Haworthia to turn yellow.

The striped Haworthia prefers a semi-shady environment. If the light is too strong, especially during the dormant period, the leaves will turn yellow or even red; if the light is weak, the leaves will lose their luster due to lack of chlorophyll. Therefore, during normal maintenance, try to place the Haworthia in a place with sufficient scattered light. If the light is strong, especially in summer, provide appropriate shade.

Pest and disease control

The yellowing of the leaves of the striped Haworthia may also be caused by disease.

When root rot occurs in Haworthia, the leaves will slowly begin to turn yellow and gradually wilt. Therefore, if the leaves of Haworthia turn yellow, it is necessary to check whether root rot has occurred. If so, the rotten roots should be cut off in time, then medicine should be applied and replanted.
