Appreciation of Rose Varieties (Pictures and Text)

Pink Rose

Pink rose belongs to the Rosaceae family and the Rosa genus. It is a typical wild ornamental flowering deciduous climbing shrub. It is a variant of wild rose. The leaflets are larger, usually 5-7. The flowers are pink, large, single-petaled, pink or rose-red, and clustered in an umbel shape. The fruit is small with few or no seeds.

Seven Sisters Rose

"Seven Sisters" is a deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub with erect or climbing stems, usually with prickles. The flowers are solitary or in umbels, growing at the top of new shoots. The diameter of the flowers is generally about 2 cm. The colors include white, red, pink, purple, etc. The petals are single, semi-double or double.

The fruit is nearly spherical, brown-red, flowering from May to June, and fruiting from September to October. "Seven Sisters" has double flowers, deep red, large flowers, 5 to 7 cm in diameter, 7 to 10 flowers densely packed into cone-shaped umbels, with a fragrant smell.

Lotus Rose

Lotus rose is a deciduous shrub with double, light pink flowers, named after its lotus-like shape. Rose hips are dark red, spherical to oval, and about 6 mm in diameter. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is October.

Yellow Rose

Yellow rose is a short shrub, often in an arch shape, with brightly colored flowers that bloom very early, and is cherished by the horticultural community. The fruit is oblate, purple-red to dark brown, glabrous, shiny, and the sepals are persistent and reflexed. The flowering period is May to June, and the fruiting period is July to August.
