Cultivation methods and precautions of Syzygium wilfordii

Cultivation methods and precautions of Syzygium wilfordii

Environment selection

Syzygium prefers an environment with sufficient sunlight, high temperature and humidity. The soil should be fertile, loose and moist. For poor soil, apply more organic fertilizer. It is suitable for planting in a sheltered area, with slightly acidic sandy soil being the most suitable. Avoid frost and fear drought. The large temperature difference between day and night is conducive to improving the quality of the fruit.

Water requirements

When the sycamore seedlings are young, water them as little as possible. After they have grown stably, water them once every 10-15 days and increase the ambient temperature appropriately. Later, as the seedlings grow, control the water appropriately, turn the soil frequently, and water once after buds appear. The soil should be kept moist during the flowering and fruiting period, and watered frequently during droughts. Generally, water once just after flowering, during the peak flowering period, and within one week after flowering. Stop watering 5 days before harvest.

Fertilization requirements

If sufficient base fertilizer is applied during planting, no topdressing is generally required during the growing period. If the base fertilizer is insufficient, topdressing should be done early to prevent excessive growth. 10 kg of urea or diamine should be applied during the seedling stage. If signs of excessive growth appear, 500 times the concentration of chlormequat can be sprayed on the leaves. 3-4 years after planting, fertilization can be applied by deep burial method, with 0.1-0.2 kg of compound fertilizer applied to each young tree.

Weeding and pruning

After planting, weeding and loosening the soil should be carried out in time. The specific method is: depending on the growth of the plants, weeding should be carried out twice a year, once in the first and second half of the year. Clear the weeds around the roots and prune the branches according to the shape of the tree.

Precautions

The guava has strong adaptability to the environment and is easy to maintain. Just make sure it is adequately watered and fertilized so it can grow healthily.

The flowers, seeds and bark of the sycamore tree have certain medicinal value and can treat diabetes, dysentery and other diseases. However, do not eat it casually during the maintenance process and follow the doctor's advice.
