How to remedy the yellowing of leaves of lucky bamboo grown in water?

Hydroponic lucky bamboo is popular for its fresh appearance and auspicious meaning. However, many flower lovers have found that the leaves of lucky bamboo have turned yellow during the maintenance process, and the situation continues. So how to remedy the yellowing leaves of lucky bamboo grown in water?

1. Unsuitable temperature

Lucky bamboo is sensitive to temperature. In the north, if the indoor temperature is below 15°C, the growth of lucky bamboo will slow down and the leaves will stop growing. If the temperature is below 10°C, the leaves may start to turn yellow from the bottom and gradually fall off. To avoid yellow leaves, lucky bamboo should be placed in an environment above 15°C.

2. Lack of fertilizer

Hydroponic lucky bamboo requires regular nutrient supplementation. If no fertilizer is applied for a long time, the nutrients in the water will be limited and cannot meet the growth needs of lucky bamboo, causing the leaves to turn yellow. When growing lucky bamboo hydroponically at home, you should regularly add nutrient solution to the water. Choose a hydroponic nutrient solution containing a variety of elements, and add one or two drops each time you change the water to ensure the nutrient supply .

3. Iron deficiency

The water quality in the north is alkaline, which may cause lucky bamboo to be unable to absorb iron normally, thereby causing yellow leaves due to iron deficiency. The new leaves turn yellow. To solve this problem, add one or two drops of vinegar to the water when changing the water to keep the water slightly acidic and promote the absorption of iron.

4. Water change and water quality

Regular water changes are the key to maintaining hydroponic lucky bamboo. When the water becomes dirty, it should be replaced in time, and the water temperature should be close to the ambient temperature when changing the water to avoid excessive temperature difference. At the same time, add one or two drops of rooting liquid to help the growth of the roots.

5. Lighting conditions

Lucky bamboo needs diffuse light, but should avoid direct sunlight. Insufficient or excessive light can cause yellowing of leaves.

In general, the maintenance of hydroponic lucky bamboo requires attention to several aspects such as temperature, nutrient supply, iron absorption, water quality and light. With careful management, yellow leaf problems can be avoided.
