How to distinguish between Yachiyo and Otome Kokoro

How to distinguish between Yachiyo and Otome Kokoro

1. Look at the pole

Looking at the pole is the easiest method. Looking at whether the head is big or small is not as obvious as looking at the pole!

The Yachiyo is a distinctly wooden pole with clear grain and an old, yellowish color;

The heart of the maidenhair tree is a fleshy rod, and the stem and rod are tender green;

2. Look at the small plants

The difference between the two newly released small strains is also very obvious!

The small plant of Hachiyo also has a wooden stem, with leaves that are small at the top and large at the bottom, and are green with yellow in color. The leaves of the small plant of Maiden Heart are large at the head and small at the tail, and the color is green, with the top of the leaves slightly purple!

3. Look at the leaves

The curvature of the leaves of the two are also different, as shown in the figure.

The leaves of Yachiyo are yellowish-green, turning yellow or slightly orange-yellow in the sun, and the shape of the leaves is a bit like a cucumber; the leaves of Maiden Heart are like bananas, with a bluish-green color, and will turn red when exposed to the sun.

4. Look at the side buds

The Hachimandai rarely grows side shoots, and the side shoots that emerge are generally green;

The maiden heart has many side buds and many small ones. The newly grown side buds are pink and white.

5. Do they live in groups?

Yachiyo is very independent, with straight stems, and grows alone in one pot, not in groups; you can tell from the picture that Otome Kokoro likes to grow in groups.

6. Comparison Chart

Just looking at the picture, you can see that Yachiyo's eyes are filled with green, so green that it almost seems blue. The maiden heart will be pink, and the red spots on the leaves are too obvious!

These six identification methods are so simple and direct! You no longer have to worry about being cheated by merchants. To grow a good 8,000-year-old hibiscus, start by buying the right variety and get started!
