How to water and plant potted kapok

1. How to water potted kapok

Kapok plants are naturally drought-resistant, so you don’t need to water them too frequently when growing them in potted plants. No matter which growth stage or season it is, watering should be carried out according to the principle of keeping it dry rather than wet. Water the plant when you find the soil in the pot is dry, and water it in moderation without any accumulation of water. In addition, if there are continuous rainy days, you must take shelter from the rain and drain the rainwater. Flooding is strictly prohibited.

2. How to plant potted kapok

1. Prepare the potting soil: The root system of kapok is relatively large, so choose a slightly larger flowerpot when planting. The soil should be loose, breathable, well-drained and slightly acidic. Such a potting soil environment is more conducive to the growth of kapok flowers.

2. Choose seedlings: When planting, choose seedlings that are healthy and free of diseases and pests. Before potting, trim the roots first, cut off the old roots, dead roots, and rotten roots, so as to promote better absorption of nutrients and faster resumption of growth in the later stage.

3. Planting in pots: When planting in pots, first put a small amount of soil in the pot, and then put the treated seedlings in. Fill the soil carefully, and press it down after filling it so that the roots and soil are tightly combined.

4. Later maintenance: Water the plant as soon as possible after planting in the pot. Pay attention to the amount of water and do not use too much. In the later stage, more ventilation and more sunlight are needed so that the plants can grow vigorously.
