How to save Milan from yellowing and falling leaves?

Milan is a popular indoor plant known for its long-lasting bloom and rich floral fragrance. If properly maintained, Milan can bloom almost all year round. Although the flowers are as small as millet grains, their fragrance is very charming. However, during the maintenance of Milan, the bottom leaves may fall off in large areas. So how to save the Milan from yellowing and falling leaves?

1. Insufficient fertilizer

Milan grows vigorously, blooms frequently, and has a high demand for nutrients. If potassium dihydrogen phosphate fertilizer containing only phosphorus and potassium is used for a long time, it may lead to deficiency of nitrogen and other trace elements, which in turn cause yellowing and falling of leaves.

The correct approach is to spread slow-release fertilizer on the surface of the potting soil, and regularly water with fertilizer containing phosphorus and a balance of other elements, such as Huaduoduo No. 2, to ensure adequate supply of nutrients.

2. Improper watering

Milan flowers prefer moist soil, but excessive moisture or prolonged drought may cause leaves to fall off.

The correct way to water is to observe the soil moisture. When you can no longer feel moisture two or three centimeters below the soil surface, water thoroughly at one time. Avoid keeping the soil too wet or too dry for long periods of time.

3. Poor ventilation

When growing Milan flowers indoors, if the ventilation conditions are poor, the leaves may fall off due to excessive humidity.

To improve this situation, the Milan flower should be placed in a well-ventilated place, or an electric fan should be used after watering to help the water evaporate quickly to reduce leaf shedding.

In short, in order to ensure the healthy growth and continuous flowering of Milan flowers, remember to keep the indoor temperature above 15 degrees and ensure sufficient light. Use soil with good air permeability and add an appropriate amount of fermented pine needle soil, or regularly supplement with ferrous sulfate. Choose a fertilizer that is high in phosphorus and well-balanced with other elements, and apply 2 to 3 times a month. Master the correct watering method and maintain appropriate soil moisture. Maintain good ventilation to avoid leaf shedding due to excessive humidity.
