How to grow okra?

1. Soaking and germination

Okra has a thick seed coat, so it is best to use the soaking germination method. Soak okra seeds directly in clean water, change the water once a day, and they will germinate in about 7 days.

Okra seeds germinate after 7 days.

2. Seeding and germination

Water the prepared potting soil thoroughly, place the germinated seeds evenly in the pot, and cover them with a thin layer of soil, the thickness of which should just cover the seeds.

3. Transplanting

When the okra seedlings grow about four true leaves, they can be transplanted into pots.

4. Prepare the soil for planting okra

In order for okra to produce large and good fruits in the future, you can crush the cooked soybeans and mix them with garden soil as nutrient soil before planting.

5. Maintenance

Okra likes light. After planting, it can be placed on a balcony with sufficient light and watered once a day. Okra tends to fall over when it grows too tall, so it can be supported with wooden strips.

6. Flowering

About 1 month later, okra will enter the flowering period. The flower of okra is light yellow, Huahua thinks it looks a bit like the light yellow hibiscus~

6. Picking okra

After the flowers fade, okra begins to mature. The harvesting period of okra is very long, about three months.

Why don't you plant it quickly?

If you have any questions, you can leave a message to Huahua~

<<:  Afraid of spending money on growing flowers? Just go out for a walk and you’ll have all the materials for the year!

>>:  This flower bursts into a ball once it blooms, and it will come to life when thrown into the soil. It is difficult to kill it!
