How much is Clivia (Clivia price)

How much is Clivia (Clivia price)

1. Price

The price of Clivia fluctuates greatly. If you buy seeds individually, they usually sell for 1-2 yuan each. If you buy them by pound, they sell for about 400 yuan per pound. There will be more than a thousand seeds in total. The price of its seedlings ranges from 6 yuan to more than 10 yuan, which is also related to the number of leaves grown. The more leaves, the higher the price, but the price is usually around 20-30 yuan. In addition, some rarer species can be sold for tens of thousands of yuan.

2. Plant introduction

Clivia is a perennial herb of the genus Clivia in the Amaryllis family. It is native to South Africa and prefers warm and dry environments. The plant has milky white fleshy roots and a relatively short stem. Leaves emerge from the inside and grow symmetrically on both sides. It will start to bloom when there are 12 leaves. Its peduncle grows from the leaf axils, is funnel-shaped, and is mostly orange or orange-red in color.

3. How to raise

1. Soil: When planting Clivia, you must use loose and fertile soil. Good air permeability helps the roots breathe, and the slightly acidic environment can also help it absorb nutrients. Generally, potting soil is prepared with leaf mold, pine needles, river sand and base fertilizer. The pot should be changed and new soil should be replaced every 1-2 years.

2. Watering: The fleshy roots of Clivia have the ability to store water, so it is very drought-resistant. If the air is dry and the temperature is high during the growing season, you will need to add water appropriately. Usually water the potting soil when it is half dry, just keep the soil slightly moist, not too wet.

3. Fertilization: The growth of Clivia cannot be separated from sufficient fertilizer. In addition to adding basal fertilizer when repotting, it also needs top dressing during the growing period. If you use solid fertilizer, choose cake fertilizer or bone meal, dig 2-3 cm into the soil, and bury the fertilizer inside. Liquid fertilizer needs to be diluted with water before spraying, and water should be applied every other day to speed up the absorption of the fertilizer.
